Our story

From the waiting room to your living room.

As doctors in the University of Toronto Orthopaedic Sports Medicine group, we have treated thousands of patients with a variety of hip conditions.

Over the decades, we’ve helped people make lasting improvements to their mobility. Still, we've noticed that some patients were disappointed with their health outcome. Some people were surprised that surgery alone didn’t restore them as they thought it would.

“The best recoveries come to the patients who play a part in their care,” says Dr. Daniel Whelan. They do the right exercises, at the right time, to achieve the right results.”

Today, after rounds of iterative refinement, HIPFIT10 offers patients an optimal chance to heal without surgery, or to provide those who need surgery the best chance at recovery.

Why we created HIPFIT10

Hip surgery is a huge part of recovery but it’s not the only variable. Nearly every patient is directed into physiotherapy, but there are many reasons why patients don’t follow through. Some routines are incomplete or even obstruct healing. And some patients find it expensive, complicated, or difficult to stick with over the long term.

HIPFIT10 was born out of frustration. We could only do so much to help our patients. It was time to offer them an exercise routine they could do on their own and stick with—a routine based on actual science. HIPFIT10 is made up of the best exercises we have found to support the hip and ease recovery.
